چکیده

The high demand and production rate of Mango (Mangifera indica L.) inevitably lead to a significant wastage excess produce. current research aims screen characterize phenolic compounds estimate their antioxidant potential in rejected mangoes. It was found that Honey Gold variety possessed the highest Total Phenolic Content (TPC) (2.37 ± 0.06 mg GAE/g) capacity through 2,2′-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) (2.13 0.09 AAE/g) assay. LC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS characterized total 86 different mango varieties including Kensington Pride (31), Keitt (30), (29), Calypso (28), Palmer (14). In high-performance liquid chromatography-photo diode array (HPLC-PDA) quantification, noteworthy levels chlorogenic acid, caffeic gallic quercetin, kaempferol were all five samples. abundance phenolics its corresponding indicate food, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, feed industries. Novelty impact statement Liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry chromatography-photometric analysis allows researchers establish various chemical profiles exhibited by foods. Our present study focused on applying such techniques tentatively identify, characterize, quantify waste pulp. With identification beneficial compounds, future studies can focus developing innovative functional foods, food bioactives, nutraceuticals commercial scale. More importantly, attempt dissolve growing concerns about effectively repurposing

Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Capacity of Phenolic Compounds of Mango (Mangifera indica L.) Seed depending upon the Extraction Process

The extraction method is critical for the recovery of phenolic compounds. The main goal was to evaluate the effect of an extraction process from mango seed on their phenolic profile, antioxidant and antimicrobial capacities. Phenolic extraction was performed in different steps: maceration, alkaline hydrolysis, acid/alkaline hydrolysis, polar and non-polar fraction of an ethyl acetate separation...

Processing ‘Ataulfo’ Mango into Juice Preserves the Bioavailability and Antioxidant Capacity of Its Phenolic Compounds

The health-promoting effects of phenolic compounds depend on their bioaccessibility from the food matrix and their consequent bioavailability. We carried out a randomized crossover pilot clinical trial to evaluate the matrix effect (raw flesh and juice) of 'Ataulfo' mango on the bioavailability of its phenolic compounds. Twelve healthy male subjects consumed a dose of mango flesh or juice. Bloo...

Intestinal Permeability and Cellular Antioxidant Activity of Phenolic Compounds from Mango (Mangifera indica cv. Ataulfo) Peels

Mango (Mangifera indica cv. Ataulfo) peel contains bound phenolics that may be released by alkaline or acid hydrolysis and may be converted into less complex molecules. Free phenolics from mango cv. Ataulfo peel were obtained using a methanolic extraction, and their cellular antioxidant activity (CAA) and permeability were compared to those obtained for bound phenolics released by alkaline or a...

Sanitizers Effect in Mango Pulp and Peel Antioxidant Compounds

Effects of ozonated water as sanitizer method on mango were studied on total phenolics, flavonoids, carotenoids and vitamin C of pulp or peel. Mango cultivar “Palmer” was harvested and subjected to sanitization treatments by immersion in water, chlorinated water (10 minutes sodium hypochlorite 100 mg∙L−1) or ozonated water for 10 and 20 minutes. After the sanitization process, the mangoes were ...
